I just finished reading the first of a handful of ARC’s picked up at this year’s Book Expo America—Room: A Novel by Emma Donoghue
Although it took me a few pages to get past the young narrators tendency to personify household objects, it wasn’t long before I was smitten with him. The relationship Jack shares with his mother is strong and endearing despite their horrendous circumstances. Scary, sweet, and sometimes sad, it’s definitely one of those books that makes you think about your own life and loved ones and say: “I can’t even imagine.”
